Derek Tramont

Partner

Derek Tramont is a partner of Miles Per Gallon, Inc., a freelance location manager, production consultant and scout. As a New York native, he went to film school where he developed and harnessed his passion for the love of film. After trying his hand at producing and directing music videos and short films with the help of his peers and early collaborators – he found an opportunity to move out to sunny Los Angeles where the real journey will begin to unfold. Starting quickly as a production coordinator and location assistant, he found himself a part of the teamsters local 399 union for location managers in early 2018. Destined to work on the shows that made him venture out to the west coast in the first place, HBO’s Barry and Netflix’s The OA Part II created a pathway to find more work and even more fruitful opportunities.

Derek has since taken on projects of all shapes and sizes from Marvel films such as Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, prestige television from auteurs like Ava DuVernay (Colin in Black & White), Succession, Last Week Tonight w/ John Oliver, and movies such as Fall, Night Teeth and Do Revenge. With a slate of unreleased 2022 features that will surely please.
